The festival where in three days the past, present and future of jazz pass by. Because of the multitude of musical styles that are played, everyone will find something to love.
The headliners are: Lionel Richie on Friday 10 July, Diana Ross on Saturday 11 July and Alicia Keys on Sunday 12 July. The festival opens spectacularly this year with a special opening concert by John Legend on Thursday evening 9 July.
Special jazz projects include the 80-year-old Herbie Hancock with a special anniversary concert, the reunion of jazz greats Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Brian Blade under the name Mood Swing Quartet, a tribute to John Coltrane by jazz legend Archie Shepp and a special collaboration between Kurt Elling and Danilo Perez.
Public favorites Gregory Porter and Ibrahim Maalouf will also return to Rotterdam, as will Joe Bonamassa, who will perform this edition with the Metropole Orchestra. In addition, soul singer Michael Kiwanuka, Afropop sensation Burna Boy and the 'alternative soul' of Black Pumas, Yola and Alabama Shakes Frenchwoman Brittany Howard will make their appearance in Ahoy.
Three-day tickets for the NN North Sea Jazz Festival 2020 went on sale at 10:00 am on 22 November and have since sold out. Ticket sales for the individual day tickets will start on February 1st at 10.00 am. All-in tickets will be available from the end of April.
