Dalai Lama

Come to the Dalai Lama’s teachings and let yourself be inspired by one of the most important spiritual leaders of our time. The Dalai Lama, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, will give two public lectures in the Rotterdam Ahoy. The theme of the Dalai Lama’s teachings will be compassion, and why it is so essential in these turbulent times. The Dalai Lama: 'Developing compassion and understanding for others will bring us what we are all looking for: peace and happiness.’

 

The fourteenth Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is one of the world’s most renowned spiritual leaders. The Dalai Lama works tirelessly to foster the development of compassion, respect for the environment and peaceful solutions to human conflicts. His Holiness was born in the Amdo region of Tibet in 1935, and has been living in exile in India since 1959. In 1989, the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his work for the promotion of peace and non-violence.
