The Dutch government announced limitations for events within a determined period of time. That means that this event in Rotterdam Ahoy cannot take place on the date on which it was planned. Please check www.ahoy.nl/corona-en for the current statement.
After big shows in Amsterdam and Heerenveen Hessel returns to Ahoy in 2020, after almost 30 years, for a new and grand concert. Together with his daughter Tess he returns to the spot where he got to party all over the Netherlands for the first time.
In 1991 Hessel surprised everyone by selling out Ahoy twice as a singing pub boss and - more importantly - charming the whole country with his disarming performance of catchy rock, blues and pop music and of course 'Terug Naar Terschelling’. The now 63-year-old artist has released eight albums over the years and performs more than 250 times a year with his daughter on stage in their own Café De Groene Weide. In 2005 they performed together for the first time on a large stage in Thialf. Two years ago, Hessel and Tess managed to attract more than ten thousand visitors to Ziggo Dome. In 2020, Ahoy can expect an equally large and surprising concert, with the same simple and effective theme: "No hard stuff, just great music! Young or old, it doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, everyone goes crazy during a performance of Hessel and Tess".
