Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre
As Director of Conventions, Mirjam ensures that the sales team does what it does best: marketing the Convention Centre and hosting the most fantastic events and conferences. According to Mirjam, what makes working at Ahoy so great is the diversity of both the clients and the events and the trust within the Rotterdam Ahoy organisation. Mirjam likes to think ahead, she likes to have an overview and she motivates and encourages her team
On a personal note, Mirjam is planning to sail around the world with her family one day!
As a Conventions Sales Manager, Marieke focuses on the corporate market. She is the oldest of the team but certainly not outdone by the younger generation. Before Marieke is ready for her clients, she regularly starts the day by swimming a few lengths in the pool.
Working at Ahoy is a pleasure for Marieke, especially because of the variety between the business aspect and entertainment. She also enjoys creating unforgettable experiences.
Nadia is responsible for the smaller parties at the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre. These can be one-day meetings or multi-day gatherings of up to 250 people. She is eager to learn and wants all parties to feel welcome at Rotterdam Ahoy. Nadia is a perfectionist, which ensures that every event is handled with the same professionalism. No two days are the same, but every day is perfectly organised.
Besides making her clients feel welcome, Nadia is an animal lover and likes to take in animals in need of a warm home.
Nadèche is responsible for international association congresses. These are often long-term projects, and it is always exciting when the host city of a congress is announced. Her interests in architecture and interior design make it extra fun to work in a state-of-the-art building like the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre. She is also extremely organised, even on business trips. Her goal is to take the smallest possible suitcase with her; travel light 2.0. It always works, with a secret method…
Samantha contributes to the successful acquisition of (international) conferences and corporate events. As Sales Assistant, she supports the team with the sales processes. She is keen to ensure that parties are spared in the search for a suitable event location. As an event management graduate, she understands that this is an important part of the 'planning puzzle’.
For Samantha, the best thing about working at Rotterdam Ahoy is seeing how all the individual pieces of the puzzle fit and come together into one event. And so she often walks around Rotterdam Ahoy to admire the final results. At the end of her working day, Samantha often leaves the building with her sports bag, heading for the gym.
Jolenne is responsible for the international association congresses. A versatile and independent position in which she enjoys creating business for the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre and the city of Rotterdam. Jolenne is a communicatively strong networker with an eye for detail and always looking for the best customer experience. She has worked at various event locations in Rotterdam over the years and finds it extremely special and fun that she is now working at Ahoy.
Besides having worked for various event locations, Jolenne enjoys socialising and action. She likes going out for drinks with friends, and snowboarding is a sporty hobby!
